A Roomzy game

Squiggly — draw and guess online

One player draws a secret word with a finger on their phone, the drawing appears live on the shared screen, and everyone else types guesses on theirs. The worse the drawing, the funnier.

2–16 players ~15 min

The room is free, guests join from their phones with a code

Squiggly is a draw-and-guess party game for 2 to 16 players. You draw with your finger on your phone, the drawing shows up live on the TV or in a call, and everyone types guesses from their own phones. The faster you guess, the more points you get — and the artist scores for drawing clearly.

About the game

Squiggly is the easiest Roomzy game: there's almost nothing to explain. One person draws, everyone else guesses, and a minute later the whole room is laughing at a cat that looks like a stool. You don't need to draw well — in fact, the stranger the drawing, the funnier the guesses, and wrong answers show up on the screen for everyone to see.

It's the same idea as drawing games on paper, only easier:

  • draw with your finger on your phone — no paper, markers or whiteboard; the drawing appears right away on the TV or in the call;
  • guesses are typed on phones — nobody shouts over each other, and "Close!" only shows up for you;
  • points count themselves — for speed, for the first guess and for a clear drawing;
  • three words to choose from — easy, medium or hard, with more points for hard;
  • the Drawing of the Night at the end — a vote for the best masterpiece, and you can save the gallery to your phone.

It works for everyone: families with kids, friends at a party, coworkers at an office event, friends on a call. You can even play with two — for a shared score. A game takes 10–25 minutes and makes a great warm-up before Mafia or Exodus.

How to start a game

  1. Open Roomzy on a TV or laptop and create a room. Playing over a video call? Share the room tab in the call.
  2. Friends scan the QR code or type the room code on their phones. No app, and guests don't need to sign up.
  3. Pick a mode and start. There's no human host: Roomzy runs the game.

A game takes 10–25 minutes: about 12 minutes for 4–8 players, up to 25 for 16.

How the game goes

The game is played in rounds: everyone draws once per round.

  1. Pick a word — 10 seconds. The artist sees three words: easy, medium and hard. Hard pays more, easy pays less.
  2. Draw — 80 seconds. Draw with your finger: 10 colors, three brush sizes, an eraser, Undo and Clear. You can turn the canvas sideways. No letters or numbers.
  3. Guess. The screen shows how many letters the word has and where the spaces are. Type guesses on your phone: a word or a short phrase. Almost there — your phone quietly says "Close!". Wrong guesses appear on the shared screen for everyone — that's half the fun.
  4. Hints. Halfway through and closer to the end, one letter is revealed each time.
  5. Reveal. The screen shows the word, who guessed it and how many points everyone got.

While someone draws, everyone else can tap reactions — "Ha-ha", "Masterpiece", "What is that?", "Fire" — and they pop up next to the drawing.

Points

  • Guessed it: 100 points plus up to 200 for speed, and 50 more for the first one. Points are multiplied by the word's difficulty.
  • Drew it: up to 200 points (up to 300 for a hard word) — more when more players get it, and faster.
  • Is the artist spelling the word out? Players tap "Writing letters" — if more than half complain, the turn is cancelled.

After the last round everyone votes for the Drawing of the Night, and whoever has the most points wins. You can save the game's gallery as a picture on your phone.

You can play with two

With two players, you play together: one draws, the other guesses, then you swap — 8 turns. Points are shared, your score earns one to three stars, and your best result stays while the room is open. Great for a night for two or to warm up while the others arrive.

Modes

  • Family (6+) — for kids and work: only kid-friendly words, a narrator with no rude jokes.
  • Normal (16+) — the default: words for every taste.
  • 18+ — adds party and sex-humor words; the room owner confirms everyone is 18 or older.

FAQ

How is Squiggly different from charades?

In charades you act the word out; in Squiggly you draw it with your finger on your phone. The drawing appears on the shared screen, guesses are typed on phones, and points are counted automatically: for speed, for the first guess and for a clear drawing.

How many people can play?

2 to 16. A free room fits up to 8 players, Premium up to 16. With two players, you play for a shared score.

Can you play online if everyone is in a different city?

Yes. Get on a call in Zoom or any other video app and share the room tab: everyone sees the drawing, and each player draws and guesses on their own phone.

Can you play with kids?

Yes. Family mode only has kid-friendly words, and the narrator keeps it clean.

What if the artist writes the word in letters?

Tap "Writing letters" on your phone. If more than half of the guessers complain, the turn is cancelled: the artist gets 0 and everyone's points for that turn are wiped.
